Jared Kushner, former White House adviser to Donald Trump and his son-in-law, has expressed optimism about the "very valuable" potential of Gaza's waterfront property, suggesting that Israel should relocate civilians while addressing the area's development, as reported by Meg Kinnard for the Associated Press (AP).

In an interview dated February 15 and posted earlier this month on the YouTube channel of the Middle East Initiative, a program of Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, Kushner spoke of Gaza's potential for economic growth.
He proposed relocating Palestinian evacuees to Egypt, a proposal that Cairo has shown reluctance to accept, and proposed utilizing the Negev desert to accommodate up to 1.5 million Palestinians.
It remains uncertain whether Kushner discussed these proposals with Palestinians. However, he defended Israel's actions, stating that Prime Minister Netanyahu aimed to minimize civilian casualties, despite the acceptability of 31,000 deaths.
Kushner emphasized the diversion of funds into tunnel networks and munitions, suggesting that these resources could have been better utilized for education or innovation.
He suggested a strategy of relocating people out of the area temporarily to facilitate clean-up efforts. Kushner clarified that Israel has not indicated opposition to the return of people to the region afterward.
It's worth noting that Kushner, who is of Jewish descent, has a background in property development and has attracted significant investment, including $2 billion from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF).
