Horia Adrian, the company's President and Chief Operating Officer, emphasized that the hub not only showcases sustainable building solutions but also functions as a co-creation lab to expedite the development of low-carbon, circular, and energy-efficient structures globally.
The hub prominently features low-carbon materials like ECOPact concrete and ECOPlanet cement, along with circular construction solutions such as Holcim's proprietary ECOCycle circular technology platform.
This platform focuses on recycling construction demolition materials to create new building solutions.
Adrian highlighted that the Innovation Hub underscores their commitment to supporting the country's development and plays a crucial role in rapidly urbanizing Mindanao, offering innovative solutions for constructing essential structures with minimal environmental impact.
Encouraging Davao City residents to explore Holcim's showroom, Adrian emphasized its significance in providing innovative solutions for decarbonizing buildings throughout their life cycle.
He mentioned, as well, plans to virtually showcase the global Holcim Innovation Hub located in France, allowing clients and partners to experience exciting new materials for more sustainable and innovative construction.
Ramakrishna Maganti, Holcim’s Senior Vice President and Head of Infrastructure and Industrial Sales, revealed the company's dedication to accelerating transformation as a sustainable and innovative building solutions provider.
Maganti emphasized their commitment to decarbonizing buildings throughout their entire lifecycle, striving to create a net-zero future that aligns with environmental sustainability goals while delivering superior performance.
Maganti further highlighted Holcim Philippines' substantial progress in reducing its carbon footprint since 2018, achieving a reduction of over 20 percent. This accomplishment was attributed to the production of more blended cement, substituting coal with qualified waste as alternative fuels, and enhancing operational efficiency.
