Int'l Donors Provide Ukraine With 3B Euros, Another 4B In The Pipeline

Ukraine has received 3 billion euros from international donors and expects to receive an additional 4 billion euros to support the war effort and provide humanitarian aid to millions of citizens displaced by the Russian invasion that started on February 24, 2022.

Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said Kyiv is also also working with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) to create a financial mechanism to allow Ukraine to receive additional funds.
Canada will offer Ukraine up to $1 billion in new loan resources via the IMF and provide an additional $500 million in military aid, the Canadian government announced on April 7, Kyiv Independent reported.
ArcelorMittal, Europe’s biggest steelmaker plans to restart production at its Kryvyi Rih steel plant by April 11. The company announced the decision after the Ukrainian government asked it to relaunch production last week and after assessing the situation.
ArcelorMittal halted production at the plant to ensure employee safety after Russia’s invasion began.
In what Kyiv considered an endearing act, the rock band Pink Floyd will release a song in support of Ukraine. “Hey, Hey Rise Up” features vocals by Ukrainian singer Andriy Khlyvniuk from his video where he sang a Ukrainian folk song in central Kyiv during the war.
The song went viral and became the unofficial anthem of Ukraine’s resistance. The proceeds of Pink Floyd’s song will be donated to humanitarian relief.
