Mitsubishi Power and DT Midstream Partner To Push Clean Energy Via U.S. Hydrogen Infrastructure

DT Midstream, Inc. (NYSE: DTM), a leading natural gas pipeline and storage provider, and Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc., a provider of gas solutions energy generation and storage, have entered into a strategic joint development agreement (JDA) to promote clean hydrogen energy development projects in the United States.

The partners, according to a Business Wire report, will identify, develop and implement projects that integrate Mitsubishi Power's hydrogen and power generation technologies with DT Midstream's power infrastructure development and operational expertise to decarbonize the utilities, transportation, and industrial sectors.
The JDA focuses on the production, storage, transport, and use of hydrogen and other commodities. Opportunities include offering hydrogen in liquefied or compressed form for various applications such as power generation and transport, as well as steel, refining, and fertilizer manufacturing.
The collaboration will employ Mitsubishi Power's Hydaptive™ hydrogen package, which integrates renewable energy, gas turbines, hydrogen, and other energy storage technologies. DT Midstream will provide gas delivery expertise and leverage assets such as interstate and intrastate pipelines, collection systems, and storage systems. DT Midstream has approximately 1,200 miles of transport pipelines and more than 1,000 miles of collection lines connecting supply to key demand markets.

This collaboration will add to the 'hub and spoke' hydrogen infrastructure that we've built with partnerships across North America.” Mitsubishi Power previously announced clean energy centers under development in Utah and North Dakota.
