Robert Kennedy Jr. Seeks To Attract Votes From MAGA Supporters, Potentially Impacting Trump: Salon

Could Kennedy pull votes away from Donald Trump? According to Shelby Talcott at Semafor, Trump's campaign team believes so.

She mentioned, "Internal campaign polling suggests that his expected third-party bid could potentially draw more votes away from Trump than from President Joe Biden in a general election."

In their typical self-promotional style, a member of the Trump campaign told Semafor that they intend to "aggressively criticize him, emphasizing his very liberal views."

They may discover that this is a more challenging endeavor than their rhetoric implies. This is because the segment of voters that Trump and Kennedy could be competing for does not neatly align with political beliefs such as "liberal" or "conservative."

All the news: Business man in suit and tie smiling and reading a newspaper near the financial district.

Instead, they are vying for the support of unconventional voters, often described as the "crank vote."

These individuals are drawn to eccentric, bizarre, and often inaccurate information, and they include QAnon enthusiasts. For people who value living in a fantasy world, either to escape the monotony of reality or to satisfy their need to feel unique, Trump's presidency provided them with a platform to indulge in far-fetched claims.
