Toyota Urges 50,000 U.S. Car Owners To Get Air Bags Repaired

Toyota Motor issued a statement on Monday urging the owners of 50,000 older US vehicles to get immediate recall repairs due to potential airbag issues.

The Japanese automaker highlighted that an airbag inflator in certain models could explode, posing a serious risk to motorists.
The "Do Not Drive" advisory specifically covers some 2003-2004 model year Corolla, 2003-2004 Corolla Matrix, and 2004-2005 RAV4s with Takata airbag inflators. The recall is prompted by concerns over Takata airbag inflators that have been linked to numerous deaths and injuries worldwide since 2009.
Toyota emphasized the seriousness of the issue and urged affected vehicle owners to take immediate action to address the safety risk.
