A U.S. federal judge struck down some of Apple Inc's App Store rules on Friday, forcing the company to allow developers to send their users to other payment systems in a small but symbolic win for "Fortnite" creator Epic Games and other app makers, reported Freddie Joyner for the Associated Press (AP).

The initial victory for Fortnite was long-anticipated as Apple, Google and Facebook have allegedly been shaking down consumers on the claim they only pay less than other consumers.
Consumer rights activists have accused other big tech companies of profiting from the illegal exactions.
Joyner said this would open the market to more lawsuits, as more Democrats plan to break up the monopoly enjoyed by Facebook, Google, Twitter, Yahoo, and others.
