According to Ukraine Daily on July 1, 2022, the total export capacity is currently 100 megawatts per day, but it is anticipated to rise to 800 megawatts by the end of the year. “It will provide an additional source of electricity for the EU, and much-needed revenues to Ukraine” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated.

Naftogaz, Ukraine's state-owned oil and gas firm, also announced plans to quadruple automotive fuel imports in July. According to its chairman, Yuriy Vitrenko, Naftogaz would import up to 15,600 tons in July and might become Ukraine's biggest fuel seller within a few months.

As this unfolded, the first Russian grain ship leaves Berdiansk, carrying 7,000 tons of grain taken from Ukrainian territory. This is the first ship to depart Berdiansk's harbour since the full-scale invasion began.

Russia has also reportedly launched five of its seven Black Sea Fleet submarines into the Black Sea from Sevastopol, a city on the occupied Crimea peninsula, according to the Krym Realii media outlet. Krym Realii said that four submarines were in the state of "combat readiness."

Ukraine, on the other hand, said that its forces liberated the village of Potiomkino in Kherson Oblas, destroying many Russian tanks and infantry fighting vehicles and killing a large number of Russian servicemen in the process.

Following heavy bombardment by Ukrainian artillery, missiles, and fighter aircraft, Russian soldiers also withdrew from Snake Island. On June 30, Ukraine's Operational Command "South" claimed that after being attacked by Ukrainian forces overnight, Russian troops "hastily evacuated the remnants of its garrison" and "likely left the island."

Finally, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced that Damascus' recognition of the Russian-occupied regions of eastern Ukraine as sovereign states has led Kyiv to sever diplomatic ties with that country.

According to the statement, “The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine strongly condemns the decision of the Syrian Arab Republic to recognize the so-called 'independence' of temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.”
