ACEN, U.S.-based BrightNight Partner For US$1.2-B Capital Deployment On Renewables

ACEN Corporation, the energy platform of the Ayala Group, has announced a partnership with BrightNight, a US-based global renewable power producer firm, to develop and construct 1 GWac (gigawatt alternating current) of renewable energy projects in the Philippines.

This collaboration marks the second partnership between ACEN and BrightNight, following their successful joint project in India in 2023. In India, they worked on the development, construction, and operation of a 1.2 GW large-scale hybrid wind-solar and round-the-clock renewable power projects.
Patrice Clausse, ACEN Group's chief investment officer, emphasized the shared ambition of both companies to develop superior hybrid renewable energy solutions. He highlighted the success of their joint projects in India and expressed confidence in replicating this success in the Philippines.
Clausse also stressed ACEN's dedication to meeting customer energy requirements while upholding environmental and social responsibilities.
Martin Hermann, CEO of BrightNight, expressed honor in partnering with ACEN, acknowledging their leadership in the Philippines' renewables sector. He highlighted ACEN's success in scaling and operating large fleets of renewable assets through strategic partnerships across the region.
Under this partnership, ACEN will provide BrightNight with additional resources to fund its build-out and long-term growth in the Philippines.
ACEN will leverage its strong domestic presence, partnership network, and expertise across the regional energy value chain to support BrightNight's initiatives.
ACEN shared its vision of reaching 20 GW of renewable capacity by 2030, highlighting approximately 4.8 GW of attributable renewable capacity across key markets such as the Philippines, Australia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and India.
