China Revives "G2" World Division Obama Rejected

"Planet Earth is big enough" to accommodate both China and the US, Chinese President Xi Jinping told US Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently, expanding on his “vast Pacific” offer to former US president Barack Obama 10 years ago, Katsuji Nakazawa reported for Nikkei Asia.

But Obama said “no dice” as the offer creates a “Group of 2" world in which the US and China decide the most important things. But it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks as Xi was only on the job for a year when he made an offer that was sure to be rejected by many nations, too.

Now, he is asking the US to share the planet with China, as if both countries were capable of imposing their dicta on the rest of humanity. Xi’s G2 proposal is nothing but the failed imperial plot of dynastic China that is being resurrected by a purported socialist state.

Xi, who is not known for intellectual acuity, relies on a cadre of experts with the mindset of courtiers and court jesters who believe the planet is for the Middle Kingdom to exploit in tandem with the junior US empire.
