Gov’t Helping MSMEs Improve Products, Increase Market Access

The government is actively supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in enhancing their products and expanding their market reach.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual emphasized this commitment during the opening ceremony of the 25th Likha ng Central Luzon Trade Fair at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.


Pascual's message, delivered by DTI Undersecretary for Management Services Group Ana Carolina Sanchez, reaffirmed the government's dedication to assisting Likha exhibitors on their journey of business development.

The Likha ng Central Luzon Trade Fair is a collaborative initiative between DTI 3 (Central Luzon) and Philexport-3, with support from the Regional Development Council and the Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation Inc.


This event, one of the country's long-standing trade fairs, provides a platform for showcasing the best local products of MSMEs from the provinces of Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales.

This year's Likha trade fair featured 165 exhibitors offering 80 food products and 85 non-food items for Metro Manila buyers.


Secretary Pascual highlighted that enhancing market access is a crucial aspect of MSME development, and activities like the Likha Trade Fair play a significant role in achieving this.

He stated, "Along with market access, DTI will continue to help you improve your products, facilitate access to financial packages, provide training, and other services that will upskill, upgrade, and upsize your businesses."


The secretary also encouraged Filipinos to buy local products, emphasizing that it not only contributes to job creation and local community development but also supports the dreams of everyone involved in the business, including entrepreneurs, employees, and suppliers.
